Slow Dancing With God
He made everything that has been made. Isn’t that an expansive thought to ponder? Every atom, every molecule, everything that exists. And he did it all in just six days. Well, that’s God’s story anyway. But even if those half-a-dozen days were longer, much longer than our 24 hour days, that’s still moving pretty fast, wouldn’t you agree?
All He had to do was say, “Let there be light” and SHAZAM! -- light bolted out of the chute at 186,000 miles a second! See, God can hustle when He wants to.
When you hand God your To Do list, do you attach expectations or deadlines? The Bible says that a day with Him is like 1,000 years, and 1,000 years is like a day. Does it feel like when you want God to put His foot on the gas, He slams on the brakes, and vice versa?
“From one man, Adam, He made every man and woman and every race of humanity, and He spread us over all the earth. He sets the boundaries of people and nations, determining their appointed times in history. He has done this so that every person would long for God, feel their way to Him and find Him—for He is the God who is easy to discover!” Acts 17:24-27
It may seem that God has us moving at a snail’s pace. But He has everything, and He means everything, under control. So let’s just let Him lead, okay?
