Stormproof Faith
Someone said, “Faith is like a rope. Its worth depends on what it’s tied to.”
Jesus and His homies were sailing one night when a nasty storm swept in. Fierce gales whipped waves into a frenzy. The boys panicked, roused their napping Rabbi, blaming Him for their perilous predicament. Calmly, Jesus asked:
“Why are you so afraid? Where is your faith?”
How are you handling the billows that may be rocking your boat in these uncertain times? Jesus’ question is far too determinative to dismiss. How would you answer Him?
“Where is your faith?”
Is Jesus worth your trust? What does He need to do – in addition to the cross – to earn it?
“Our ancestors trusted in You, and You rescued them. They cried out to You and were saved. They trusted in You and were never disgraced.” Psalm 22:4–5
