“Ask your doctor about the little blue pill,” breathlessly whispers the TV announcer who’s promising to cure you … while simultaneously warning, at 3x speed, that it could kill you. Judging by the other products being advertised on this channel, the viewer (1) fears the future, (2) is restless and (3) obsesses about his/her looks.

The solution is not the supplement; it’s the supplicant.  It’s taking the Bible’s advice:  “Don’t worry ….” Just tell God what’s troubling you, and He’ll give you peace. Your choice:  Panic or peace. And no small print disclaimer.

‍“Don't worry about anything, but in all your prayers ask God for what you need, always asking Him with a thankful heart. And God's peace, which is far beyond human understanding, will keep your hearts and minds safe in union with Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
